In loving memory of our son, Shad Luke Mckell. Shad was
born June 16, 1995 and passed away September 5, 2000 after a courageous
battle with medulloblastoma. Shad will forever be remembered by his Mommy,
Daddy and big brother Shafiq. Timeless love and hugs from Nana, Papa, Auntie
Carole, Auntie Linda, Granny Ann, Grandpa Ducky, Auntie Jill, Uncle Peter
and Auntie Debra, as well as countless aunts, uncles and cousins. Our Shaddy
loved life. He lived his life to the fullest of his abilities, and gave
so much of himself to each day, even when he was not feeling well. Shad
loved to play, his favourite things being cars and trucks and his trains.
Shad would play puzzles for hours, enjoyed colouring and watching his favourite
videos. He was a tremendous fan of Thomas the Tank, Franklin, Teletubies
and Caillou. Shad was facinated by balloons, blowing bubbles, flowers,
colourful braclets and trinkets, and he was very proud of his huge collection
of stickers and sticker books.
Shad was a very special child. He was able to smile and
laugh despite the pain of his illness, all of the treatment, the chemotherapy
and radiation. Shad's smile and laughter, his outgoing personality and
his charm drew people towards him. Once you met Shad, even just once, you
were unable to forget him. Shad touched so many people in so many different
ways. He was a true fighter, a fighter until the very end. He left us with
a legacy of insurmountable strength, the drive and desire to fight and
fulfull our true purpose in life. Shad was an angel here on earth, and
was destined to become a heavenly angel.
Although it breaks our hearts to let him go, his legacy
will live on and on.
