Who are we?

We are a very small group of caring people who want to make a difference in this world.  We are incorporated through the government and have a small board of directors. We are a not for profit organization that is run strictly by volunteers.

What is the organization all about?

Smilesnhugs is dedicated to bringing comfort to terminally ill children and their families. To provide moral support for the families, to show them that they are not alone.  Assisting families through their time of sorrow. Showing support through emails, phone calls, and letters to the families. People do care and they need not go through this  alone. Making the family aware of the various self help groups that are  available to them both through internet access and telephone access.
Supplying the family with various URL’s of comfort and 1-800 numbers that may ease their transition through the illness. Also finding bereavement support through various groups,  assisting the family to find out what resources are  available in their community. To let them know they are never alone.

To inform the public of the vast  amount of terminal illness that are prevalent in today’s society. To encourage the public to support the various registered organizations researching to find  cures. To encourage the public to support the children with cards and letters and  small gifts.

Funding:

Any monies donated to Smilesnhugs should be made payable to Smilesnhugs. There is an account set up for Smilesnhugs and all monies legally accounted for as per government standards.  A receipt will be issued for all donations.  Please do not send CASH through the mail.  All money’s donated will go to the effort of helping the children and families in need. The money will also be spent on  various office costs.   Costs such as  postage, long distance calls, paper, envelopes, and printer cartridges. Smilesnhugs is run solely by caring volunteers and no salaries are paid with any donation made.

Smilesnhugs has an open book policy.  Anyone with a vested interest may view the financial records during regular business hours by giving a  twenty four hour notice of their intent.
