  Please Meet  Angel Jake

                           D.O.B. Feb. 28 1993
                   D.O.D. Aug 8 2004

Jake first appeared on our web page Aug.15, 2000.

Jake is a seven-year-old boy who is a very courageous child.
He has beaten the odds and is a survivor. He was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 1997. He was a very active child right up to a week before he had symptoms. Jake suffered with severe cramps and horrific spasms in his legs. After a week of tests, bone scans, and CAT scans. Doctors surmised it was a form of cancer but they didn't know which kind. From a healthy child to 7 days later a gravely ill little boy, who was in excruciating pain. Just two weeks before Jake was running and playing as he usually did and now he was plagued with a dreadful sickness. He had so many tests done that he took to telling the nurses  how to give needles and if they didn't do it right he would fire them.  He is a fighter and eat at the odds once, and he can do it again. At that time he had a stem cell harvest and along with chemo it calcified the tumor. The tumor was attached within an  inch of his spine and his right kidney. He is a very brave child with a positive outlook. His words to his mom after going through tests and finding out that the neuroblastoma returned, were “Ahhh don't worry Mom.  I‘ll just have to beat it again.”  Jake now is undergoing Chemotherapy and has a chemo port in place so that he doesn't get a needle puncture each time.

Jake was also the mascot for Cops for cancer in his hometown.  He is a very active child and is a very out spoken little boy.
Jake also has one younger brother, Myles who is 6 years old. He has many interests, one of which is martial arts. As any typical boy Jake also likes Pokemon, power Rangers, board games, Ninja turtles and Nintendo 64. Jake needs to hear from all of you. Please send a card or letter to this brave little boy. Let him know how special he is.

      Please pray for his family.
